History

A wilderness area is an area of undeveloped federal land retaining its natural state and influence without permanent human improvements or habitation. These areas are protected and managed to preserve natural conditions.

The Wilderness Act of 1964 established a National Wilderness Preservation System composed of federally owned areas designated by Congress as wilderness areas.

Provisions

1.       Urges the United States Congress to prohibit federal agencies from recommending and identifying Arizona's public lands as wilderness areas without congressional, state and local consent.
