Overview

Repeals statute that prohibits a state employee from becoming a member of the Arizona State Retirement System (ASRS) before the 27^th week of employment.

History

Current statute prescribes that any state employee who is initially hired on or after July 20, 2011 is not eligible to become a member of any state retirement system before the 27^th week of employment.  The state employee will become a member of the state retirement system if membership criteria are met when the employee reaches the 27^th week of employment (A.R.S. §38-671).
