Summary of the Strike-Everything Amendment to SB 1020
Overview
Appropriates $1 million from the state General Fund in FY 2020 to the Navajo County Community College District to construct and operate a public safety and emergency services training facility.
History
Northland Pioneer College (NPC) is an accredited community college that has four campus locations, which are in the cities of Show Low, Holbrook, Snowflake/Taylor, and Winslow, as well as five centers. A student can earn a two-year Associate degree, a two-year degree that they can transfer to one of the State's universities to earn a bachelor's degree, or a certificate in one of the programs NPC offers. The Navajo County Community College District governs NPC and has the nation's second largest community college service area at 21,158 square miles.
Provisions
1. Appropriates $1 million from the state General Fund in FY 2020 to the Navajo County Community College District to construct and operate a public safety and emergency services training facility.
2. Specifies the public safety and emergency services training facility is under the control of Northland Pioneer College.
3. Exempts the appropriated monies from lapsing after FY 2020.
