ARIZONA STATE SENATE
Fifty-Fourth Legislature, First Regular Session
appropriation; amyotrophic lateral sclerosis; training
Purpose
Appropriates $350,000 from the state General Fund (GF) to the Department of Health Services (DHS) in FY 2020 to procure an amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) training module.
Background
DHS is charged with the administration of public health support services, which includes epidemiology, disease-control programs and health-education programs. Statute allows DHS to take appropriate steps to provide health care services to the medically dependent citizens of Arizona (A.R.S. § 36-104).
All state agencies must award grants in accordance with competitive grant solicitation requirements. A public notice of the request for grant applications must be given for at least six weeks before the due date for application submissions. Applications must be evaluated based solely on the evaluation criteria set forth in the initial request for applications. Application evaluators make award recommendations to the head of the state agency awarding the grant (A.R.S. §§ 41-2701 and 41-2702).
S.B. 1243 appropriates $350,000 from the state GF to DHS in FY 2020.
Provisions
