FLOOR AMENDMENT EXPLANATION
1. Eliminates language allowing prescription orders for schedule II controlled substances to be sent to a pharmacy via fax if the order is for a patient being discharged from a hospital to another institution.
2. Exempts veterinarians from electronic prescribing requirements until it is determined that electronic prescribing software is widely available for veterinarians.
3. Permits the Pharmacy Board and the Central Database Tracking System Task Force (Task Force) to identify educational, outreach and support services to advance the adoption of electronic prescribing by medical practitioners.
