FLOOR AMENDMENT EXPLANATION

 

1.    Removes language permitting the Arizona Department of Health Services, the Division of Developmental Disabilities and the Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System to contract for trauma treatment services.

2.    Allows the Department of Veterans' Services to provide grants to contractors who provide trauma treatment service training to any of the following health professionals:

a.    Licensed physicians;

b.    Registered nurses;

c.    Physician assistants;

d.    Psychologists; and

e.    Licensed behavioral health professionals who are licensed for an independence practice or supervised by a health professional who is licensed for an independent practice.

3.    Makes technical and conforming changes.

1.  A physician who is licensed pursuant to title 32, chapter 13 or 17, Arizona Revised Statutes.

2.  A registered nurse practitioner who is licensed pursuant to title 32, chapter 15, Arizona Revised Statutes.

3.  A physician assistant who is licensed pursuant to title 32, chapter 25, Arizona Revised Statutes.

4.  A psychologist who is licensed pursuant to title 32, chapter 19.1, Arizona Revised Statutes.

5.  A behavioral health professional who is licensed pursuant to title 32, chapter 33, Arizona Revised Statutes, and who is either:

(a)  Licensed for independent practice.

(b)  Supervised by a health professional who is licensed pursuant to title 32, chapter 13 or 17, Arizona Revised Statutes, a psychologist who is licensed pursuant to title 32, chapter 19.1, Arizona Revised Statutes, a registered nurse practitioner who is licensed pursuant to title 32, chapter 15, Arizona Revised Statutes, or a behavioral health professional who is licensed pursuant to title 32, chapter 33, Arizona Revised Statutes, for independent practice."
