AMENDMENT EXPLANATION
1. Removes the proposed prohibition
on counties imposing residency requirements as a condition of employment on
firefighters or peace officers.
2. Exempts, from the
proposed prohibition on residency requirements for peace officers, cities and
towns with a population of less than 5,000.
3. Exempts executive-level
firefighters or peace officers from the proposed prohibition on city, town or
fire district residency requirements.
4. Makes technical and
conforming changes.
