A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

EXPRESSING SUPPORT FOR protecting INDIVIDUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS.

(TEXT OF BILL BEGINS ON NEXT PAGE)

Whereas, the American system of free enterprise, private property ownership and individual liberty is under attack by a political process that is being used at every level of government to reorganize society through the destruction of private property; and

Whereas, private nongovernmental organizations, city planners and federal agencies have teamed up under the false threat of environmental ruin specifically to demand that we completely reorganize our economic system, representative form of government and individual lifestyle; and

Whereas, massive governmental regulations, which are enforced through state and local governments, include severe restrictions on energy and water use, a ban on the use of cars, and an attempt to impose a one‑size-fits-all structure on all communities; and

Whereas, instead of promoting individual property rights or encouraging economic stimulation with free enterprise or individual creativity, governments unabatedly impose rules, regulations, taxes and licensing with the result being the invasion of every aspect of our lives; and

Whereas, private property ownership is the single most effective tool to eradicate poverty, yet it is being systematically eliminated due to ever-widening governmental programs. Under the innocent-sounding guise of "sustainable development," partnerships between government and huge corporations are developing a powerful, tyrannical, collective society over the rights of the individual.

Therefore

Be it resolved, by the Senate of the State of Arizona, the House of Representatives concurring:

That the Members of the Legislature express their strong support of and commitment to protecting individual private property rights in this state and in our great nation.
