SENATE BILL 1443

 

 

 

AN ACT

 

PRoviding for a financial audit of the ARizona state parks board.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona:

Section 1.  Arizona state parks board; special audit; report

A.  The auditor general shall complete a special audit pursuant to section 41‑1279.03, Arizona Revised Statutes, to report on the expenditures of the state lake improvement fund established by section 5‑382, Arizona Revised Statutes, during fiscal years 2015‑2016 through 2018‑2019.  

B.  Notwithstanding any other law, the auditor general may contract with a nationally recognized independent auditor to conduct the special audit prescribed in subsection A of this section if the auditor general determines that the appropriated monies are inadequate for the auditor general to conduct the audit.  The Arizona state parks board shall pay the cost incurred by the auditor general in contracting with an independent auditor to conduct the special audit under this section.

C.  The Arizona state parks board shall cooperate with and provide all necessary information and data to the auditor general in a format prescribed by the auditor general to perform the special audit pursuant to this section.

D.  On or before November 15, 2020, the auditor general shall submit copies of the special audit to the governor, the president of the senate and the speaker of the house of representatives and provide a copy of this report to the secretary of state.
