A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION
supporting the designation of verde valley and yavapai county as an american viticultural area wine grape-growing region.
(TEXT OF BILL BEGINS ON NEXT PAGE)
Whereas, Arizona has many geographically situated and agriculturally rich areas ideally suited to produce grapes for wine production; and
Whereas, designation of these areas as an American Viticultural Area wine grape-growing region would be an economic benefit to this state; and
Whereas, the Members of the Legislature support efforts by the Arizona Department of Agriculture to work with vineyards to petition the United States Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau of the United States Department of the Treasury to achieve this designation for all wine grape‑growing areas within Arizona.
Therefore
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives of the State of Arizona, the Senate concurring:
That the Members of the Legislature support and encourage efforts by the Arizona Department of Agriculture to achieve American Viticultural Area wine grape-growing designation for all wine grape‑growing areas within Arizona.
PASSED BY THE HOUSE FEBRUARY 26, 2019.
