SENATE AMENDMENTS TO S.B. 1527

Page 1, strike lines 10 through 13, insert:
"C. Through December 31, 2020, monies deposited in the health research account each year shall be used for research on preventing and treating tobacco‑related disease and addiction.
D. From and after December 31, 2020, the department of health services shall distribute monies deposited in the health research account each year as follows:
1. An amount that is equal to the amount the health research account received in fiscal year 2019‑2020 for research on preventing and treating tobacco‑related disease and addiction.
2. After the monies are distributed pursuant to paragraph 1 of this subsection, the remaining monies in the account or $5,000,000, whichever is less, to a statewide alzheimer's disease research consortium that includes public and private participating institutions for alzheimer's disease research.
3. After the monies are distributed pursuant to paragraphs 1 and 2 of this subsection, any remaining monies for research on preventing and treating tobacco‑related disease and addiction."
