FLOOR AMENDMENT EXPLANATION
1. Specifies that any county transportation excise tax that is approved by the voters in a county with more than 400,000 persons in excess of 10 percent of the transaction privilege tax rate may only be in effect for a period of 12 years, while the remaining portion of the tax may only be in effect for 20 years.

Page 1, line 42, after the period insert "In a county with a population of more than four hundred thousand persons, the portion of a voter‑approved transportation excise tax that exceeds ten percent of the tax rate prescribed in subsection B, paragraph 1 or 2 of this section expires not later than twelve years after the date of voter approval and the remaining portion of the tax may continue for up to an additional eight years."
