AN ACT
establishing an unmanned
aircraft study committee.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona:
Section 1. Unmanned aircraft study committee; duties; report; delayed repeal
A. The unmanned aircraft study committee is established consisting of five members of the house of representatives who are appointed by the speaker of the house of representatives. Three members shall be from the political party that is in the majority in the house of representatives and two members shall be from the political party that is in the minority in the house of representatives. The speaker of the house of representatives shall designate one of these members as the chairperson of the unmanned aircraft study committee.
B. The unmanned aircraft study committee shall:
1. Meet as often as the chairperson deems necessary.
2. Identify and study the beneficial uses of unmanned aircraft.
3. Examine the economic opportunities associated with the use of unmanned aircraft.
4. Review actions taken by the federal government regarding the regulation of the general operation of unmanned aircraft for commercial use.
5. Submit a report regarding the committee's findings and recommendations on or before December 31, 2020 to the speaker of the house of representatives and provide a copy of this report to the secretary of the state.
C. This section is repealed from and after September
30, 2021.
