AN ACT
amending title 41, chapter 12, article 2, Arizona Revised Statutes, by adding section 41‑1734; appropriating monies; relating to the department of public safety.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona:
Section 1. Title 41, chapter 12, article 2, Arizona Revised Statutes, is amended by adding section 41-1734, to read:
41-1734. Search and rescue equipment grant fund; uses
The search and rescue equipment grant fund is established. The fund consists of monies appropriated by the legislature and any Gifts, grants and other donations received from public or private sources. Monies in the fund are subject to legislative appropriation. The department shall administer the fund. The department shall use Monies in the fund to provide grants to law enforcement agencies, fire departments and fire districts for purchasing search and rescue equipment, including water rescue devices.
Sec. 2. Appropriation; search and rescue equipment grant fund; exemption
A. The sum of $1,000,000 is appropriated from the state general fund in fiscal year 2020-2021 to the search and rescue equipment grant fund established by section 41‑1734, Arizona Revised Statutes, as added by this act.
B. The appropriation made in subsection A of this section is exempt from the provisions of section 35-190, Arizona Revised Statutes, relating to lapsing of appropriations.
