AN ACT

 

appropriating monies to the department of health services.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona:

Section 1.  Appropriation; department of health services; grants; programs; students with intellectual and developmental disabilities; matching monies; exemptions

A.  The sum of $1,000,000 is appropriated from the state general fund in fiscal year 2020‑2021 to the department of health services for grants to statewide organizations that are dedicated to promoting evidenced-based health, unified sports, leadership and transition programs for students with intellectual and developmental disabilities in preschool and kindergarten programs and grades one through twelve.

B.  The monies appropriated in subsection A of this section may be spent only:

1.  When the organization collects matching monies of gifts, grants and donations for the evidenced-based health, unified sports, leadership and transition programs from sources other than this state.

2.  On outreach efforts, materials and costs associated with the programs.

C.  For the purposes of this act, the department is exempt from the procurement code requirements of title 41, chapter 23, Arizona Revised Statutes.

D.  The appropriation made in subsection A of this section is exempt from the provisions of section 35‑190, Arizona Revised Statutes, relating to lapsing of appropriations.
