AN ACT
amending title 13, chapter 20, Arizona Revised Statutes, by adding section 13‑2012; relating to identity theft.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona:
Section 1. Title 13, chapter 20, Arizona Revised Statutes, is amended by adding section 13-2012, to read:
13-2012. Census taker identity theft; classification
A. A person commits census taker identity theft by either:
1. Falsely representing that the person is a census taker with the intent to interfere with the operation of the census or to obtain information or consent to an otherwise unlawful search or seizure.
2. Falsely assuming some or all of the activities of a census taker with the intent to interfere with the operation of the census or to obtain information or consent to an otherwise unlawful search or seizure.
B. A violation of this section is a class 1 misdemeanor.
