Overview

Adds a county school superintendent to the Data Governance Commission (Commission) and extends the Commission to July 1, 2028.

History

Laws 2010, Chapter 334 established the 14-member Commission which must identify, examine and evaluate the needs of public institutions who provide instruction to pupils in preschool, kindergarten, grades one through twelve and postsecondary programs in Arizona. Additionally, the Commission must provide recommendations on technology spending, and provide analyses and recommendations regarding, but not limited to, data confidentiality, security, audit management, standards for storage, archival and retrieval managements systems and publication standards.

The Commission must submit an annual report regarding the Commission's activities by December 1.  Members of the Commission may not receive compensation. (A.R.S. § 15-249.01)

Provisions

1.    Adds a county school superintendent, who is appointed by the Governor, as a member to the Commission. (Sec. 1)

2.    Extends the Commission to July 1, 2028. (Sec. 1)
