Overview

Adds a fire district chief or fire district board to the list of individuals who can issue a permit for a public display of fireworks for a locality that is more than 50 miles from a county seat and outside an incorporated city or town.

History

A community, organization or group who wishes to obtain a permit for a public display of fireworks for a locality that is more than 50 miles from a county seat and outside an incorporated city or town may make an application to the justice of the peace of the precinct. The justice of the peace is authorized to issue a permit in the same manner as the county board of supervisors. The justice of the peace is required to report any permit issued and transmit any bond for a public display of fireworks to the county board of supervisors. A constable is required to make the prescribed investigation before a permit is granted (A.R.S § 36-1603).

2.    Authorizes a fire district chief and fire district board to issue a permit to the specified groups for a public display of fireworks. (Sec. 1)

3.    Includes a fire district chief and fire district board as persons who are authorized to make a prescribed investigation before a permit is granted. (Sec. 1)

4.    Adds a fire district chief and fire district board to the list of individuals who must report any permit issued for a public display of fireworks to the county board of supervisors. (Sec. 1)
