Committee on Education
Overview
Eliminates reductions of district additional assistance (DAA) and charter additional assistance (CAA) scheduled for FYs 2021 and 2022.
History
As part of the school finance formula, school districts and charter schools receive DAA or CAA, respectively. Both DAA and CAA are outlined in statute, with DAA authorized through a statutory formula and CAA authorized through per pupil funding amounts (A.R.S. §§ 15-961, 15-185(B)(4)).
Reductions to DAA and CAA first occurred in FY 2010. Laws 2019, Chapter 265 reduced the suspension of additional assistance in FY 2020 as follows:

2) CAA from $10,221,600 to $6,814,400.
