Overview
Continues the Legislative Council for 10 years.
History
Statute establishes a Legislative Council whose membership is made up of the President of the Senate and six other senators appointed by the President, and the Speaker of the House of Representatives and six other representatives appointed by the Speaker. The powers and duties of the Legislative Council outlined in statute include:
1) Providing research, bill drafting and other necessary services to the Legislature;
2) Appointing clerical, technical and professional assistants to carry out the given statutory duties;
3) Revise or prepare bills and other measures for members or committees of the Legislature; and
4) Prepare, with consultation and cooperation from both chambers, the styles and forms for the drafting of bills, amendments and other legislative materials (A.R.S. §§ 41-1301, 41-1304).

Continues, retroactive to July 1, 2020, the
Legislative Council until July 1, 2030. (Sec. 2, 4)
2. Repeals the Legislative Council on January 1, 2031. (Sec. 2)
