Overview

Asserts the Legislature's support for the investment of necessary resources by the federal government to ensure a secure, strong and safe border for the State of Arizona.

History

The Arizona border is protected by the United States Department of Homeland Security, Customs and Border Protection (CBP). CBP is one of the world's largest law enforcement organizations dedicated to safeguard America's borders. CBP employs 60,000 U.S. citizens and facilitates lawful international travel and trade, protects against terrorists and screening for potential human traffickers and drug smugglers. The Arizona Border is split in between the Yuma Sector and Tucson Sector, which protects a total of 388 miles of the U.S. Border. These two sectors are made up of 12 stations located throughout the 388 miles. (U.S. Customs and Border Protection)
