Fifty-Fourth Legislature, Second Regular Session
AMENDED
AHCCCS; postpartum visits; incentive payments
Purpose
Appropriates $1,000,000 from the state General Fund (state GF) and $2,448,275 from Medicaid expenditure authority in FY 2021 to the Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System (AHCCCS) for contractor incentive payments to increase AHCCCS enrollee six-week postpartum visit rates.
Background
In 2014, the U.S. Center for Medicaid and Children’s Health Insurance Program Services (U.S. CMCS) launched a Maternal and Infant Health Initiative (MIHI) in collaboration with the states to improve maternal and infant health outcomes.
