appropriation; Arizona water protection fund
Purpose
Appropriates $1,000,000 from the state General Fund (state GF) in FY 2021 to the Arizona Water Protection Fund (Fund).
Background
Established in 1994, the Fund is administered by the Arizona Water Protection Fund Commission (A.R.S. § 45-2111). Fund monies are used: 1) for the development and implementation of measures to protect water of sufficient quantity and quality; 2) to maintain, enhance and restore rivers and streams and associated riparian habitats consistent with water law and water rights and measures; and 3) to increase water availability (A.R.S. § 45-2101).
H.B. 2101 appropriates $1,000,000 from the state GF in FY 2021 to the Fund.
Provisions
1. Appropriates $1,000,000 from the state GF in FY 2021 to the Fund.
2. Becomes effective on the general effective date.
