ARIZONA STATE SENATE
Fifty-Fourth Legislature, Second Regular Session
appropriations; extended bus routes
Purpose
Appropriates $200,000 from the state General Fund (state GF) in FYs 2021 and 2022 to the Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) to distribute to the regional public transportation authority (RPTA) to extend bus routes to Apache Junction.
Background
ADOT is responsible for the design and construction of state public transportation systems (A.R.S. § 28-332). Additionally, statute establishes a RPTA for counties with a population of at least 1,200,000 persons and with an approved transportation excise tax (A.R.S. § 48-5102).
