ARIZONA STATE SENATE

appropriation; military installation projects
Purpose
Appropriates $5,000,000 from the state General Fund (state GF) in FY 2021 to the Department of Emergency and Military Affairs (DEMA) to distribute to Yuma County for military installation preservation and enhancement projects.
Background
Established in 1972, DEMA consists of the Division of Emergency Management and other divisions determined necessary by the Adjutant General. DEMA is administered and controlled by the Governor as commander-in-chief and the adjutant general serve as the Director of DEMA (A.R.S. § 26-101).
Yuma County has two military bases located within county boundaries, the: 1) Yuma Proving Ground; and 2) Marine Corps Air Station Yuma.
H.B. 2310 appropriates $5,000,000 from the state GF in FY 2021 to DEMA.
Provisions
1. Appropriates $5,000,000 from the state GF in FY 2021 to DEMA to distribute to Yuma County for military installation preservation and enhancement projects.
2. Exempts the appropriation from lapsing.
3. Becomes effective on the general effective date.
