AN ACT

 

establishing the international trade office study committee.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona:

Section 1.  International trade office study committee; membership; duties; report; delayed repeal

A.  The international trade office study committee is established consisting of the following members:

1.  Three members of the house of representatives who are appointed by the speaker of the house of representatives, not more than two of whom are members of the same political party.  The speaker of the house of representatives shall designate one of these members to serve as cochairperson of the committee.

2.  Two members of the senate who are appointed by the president of the senate and who are members of different political parties.

B.  The committee shall study the feasibility of establishing trade offices in other countries that would:

1.  Facilitate commercial relationships between the country and this state.

2.  Promote the growth of tourism between the country and this state to contribute to this state's economic and cultural development.

3.  Facilitate and promote a stronger bilateral relationship between the country and this state.

4.  On or before December 15, 2020, submit a report regarding the committee's activities and recommendations for establishing trade offices in other countries to the governor, the president of the senate and the speaker of the house of representatives and provide a copy of this report to the secretary of state.

C.  This section is repealed from and after September 30, 2020.
