AN ACT
amending title 23, chapter 4, article 6, Arizona revised statutes, by adding section 23-779.01; relating to employment security.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona:
Section 1. Title 23, chapter 4, article 6, Arizona Revised Statutes, is amended by adding section 23-779.01, to read:
23-779.01. Dependent allowance; definition
A. In addition to the weekly benefit amount prescribed in section 23-779, an individual who receives benefits under this chapter and who meets the requirements prescribed in this section shall receive a weekly dependent allowance in an amount of $25 per dependent, not to exceed $50 per week. An individual is eligible for the dependent allowance if the individual primarily supports a dependent.
B. For the purposes of this section, "dependent" means a person who is any of the following:
1. Under eighteen years of age.
2. Under twenty-four years of age and a full-time student at an educational institution.
3. At least Eighteen years of age and incapacitated due to a mental or physical disability.
Sec. 2. Emergency
This act is an emergency measure that is necessary to preserve the public peace, health or safety and is operative immediately as provided by law.
