AN ACT

appropriating monies to the department of education.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona:

Section 1. Appropriations; department of education; additional assistance for gifted education programs; fiscal years 2021-2022, 2022-2023 and 2023-2024; administration; exemption

A. The sum of $5,000,000 is appropriated from the state general fund in each of fiscal years 2021-2022, 2022-2023 and 2023-2024 to the department of education to be allocated in the following amounts for the following purposes:

1. $4,700,000 for additional assistance for gifted education programs pursuant to section 15-779.03, Arizona Revised Statutes.

2. $300,000 to be used by the department of education to administer additional assistance for gifted education programs pursuant to section 15-779.03, Arizona Revised Statutes.

B. The appropriations made in subsection A of this section are exempt from the provisions of section 35-190, Arizona Revised Statutes, relating to lapsing of appropriations.
