AN ACT

 

REquiring the Arizona health care cost containment system administration to submit a federal waiver for eligibility.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona:

Section 1. Arizona health care cost containment system administration; centers for medicare and medicaid services; waiver of waiting period; definition

A. Notwithstanding any other law, the Arizona health care cost containment system administration shall request from the centers for medicare and medicaid services a waiver of the five-year waiting period for eligibility in the Arizona health care cost containment system established by title 36, chapter 29, article 1, Arizona Revised Statutes, and the children's health insurance program established by title 36, chapter 29, article 4, Arizona Revised Statutes, for qualified noncitizen pregnant women and children.

B. For the purposes of this section, "qualified noncitizen pregnant women and children" includes lawful permanent residents.
