Page 1, line 8, after "shall" insert "at the request of the student and with the permission of the parent and pursuant to the subsection F of this section,"; after "receive" insert "at least one"; strike "course"

Line 9, strike "credits" insert "Elective credit per school year"

Between lines 24 and 25, insert:

"(iv) District or charter school sports in which the student participates for a season."

Between lines 12 and 13, insert:

"2. Develop a process for families to appeal a decision to not accept an out of school learning experience for credit.

3. As provided by school districts and charter schools, post a list of local or statewide not-for-profits and vendors where students' out-of-school experiences are being recognized for credit."

Strike lines 13 through 19, insert:

"F. The school district governing board or charter school governing body shall establish a process, pursuant to the state board of education framework, to approve requests at the student's school for course equivalents that allow families to designate which course they would like the out-of-school experiences to be credited for. The school district may also allow the experience to count for one required elective not of the parents choosing.

The opportunity to identify a course equivalent shall be provided to families and students during the course and semester enrollment periods and schools shall make every effort to recognize the experiences students have outside of school mandated courses as relevent to students' growth and development.

Schools shall identify an elective with or for students who work and who request a course equivalent."
