Overview
Increases the salary of superior court clerks.
History
The annual salary of the clerk of the superior court is determined by the population of the county in which the clerk serves as determined by the latest federal decennial census. If the population of the county is 500,000 people or greater, the salary of the superior court clerk is $76,600. If the population of the county is less than 500,000 people, the salary of the superior court clerk is $63,800 (A.R.S. § 12-281).
The annual salary of the clerk of the superior court is reviewed biennially by the commission on salaries for elective state officers (A.R.S. § 41-1903).
Provisions
1. Increases the salary of superior court clerks in counties with a population of at least 500,000 from $76,600 to $78,132. (Sec. 1)
2. Increases the salary of superior court clerks in counties with a population less than 500,000 from $63,800 to $65,076. (Sec. 1)
3. Provides for a two percent annual increase in the salaries of superior court clerks beginning January 1, 2024. (Sec. 1)
4. Contains a delayed effective date of January 1, 2023. (Sec. 2)
5. Makes technical and conforming changes. (Sec. 1)
