Overview
Appropriates $908,300 from the GF in FY 2022 to the Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) to distribute to Apache County for the construction repairs and upgrades of County Road C-420 Ganado School Loop Road.
History
The county board of supervisors (BOS) is allowed to spend public monies for maintenance of public roads and streets other than legally designated state and county highways located outside the limits of an incorporated city or town (A.R.S. § 28-6705). The BOS is allowed to levy a real and personal property tax of not more than .25 cents per $100 of property in the county for road purposes (A.R.S. § 28-6712). If approved by the voters at a countywide election, a county may also levy and collect a transportation excise tax not exceeding 10 percent of the state transaction privilege tax rate (A.R.S. § 42-6107).
