Overview
An emergency measure that expands the practice of chiropractic to include performing nasal swabs, oral swabs and sputum collection.
History
Chiropractors are licensed by the Board of Chiropractic Examiners and are considered as portal of entry health care providers. Under current law, a licensed chiropractor is permitted to provide physical and clinical examinations, diagnostic x-rays and clinical laboratory procedures limited to urine collection, finger pricks or venipuncture. These procedures are to be performed in order to determine a regimen of chiropractic care or to refer patients to other licensed health care professionals. (A.R.S. § 32-925)
Provisions
1. Adds nasal swabs, oral swabs and sputum collection as clinical diagnostic laboratory procedures that can be performed by a chiropractor in order to determine a regimen of chiropractic care or to refer patients to other licensed health care professionals. (Sec. 1)
