Overview
Allows a county free library district to offer or provide funding to make specified resources and programs available.
History
A county free library district is a political taxing subdivision of the State and has all powers, privileges and immunities generally granted to municipal corporations by the Arizona Constitution and laws (A.R.S. § 48-3902).
A county board of supervisors (BOS) may establish a county free library district for a county in which towns and cities within the county elect to participate (A.R.S. § 48-3901). The BOS may either establish and maintain a county free library district or establish, operate and maintain a county free library system using monies from the county's general fund (A.R.S. § 11-901). A government body of any incorporated city or town may notify the BOS of its desire to become part of or leave the county free library district (A.R.S. § 11-903).
