Overview
Requires a city, town or state agency to provide the contact information for the employee who will communicate with a person of the public on specified issues.
History
Current statute requires each state agency to annually publish the name or names of employees who are designated by the agency to assist members of the public or regulated community in seeking assistance or information from the agency. The names of such employees must be published in the register, in the state directory and in a telephone directory for Maricopa County (A.R.S. § 41-1006).
Provisions
1. Stipulates that, in any written communication between a city, town or state agency and a person, the contact information of the employee authorized to provide the information must be given. (Sec. 1, 2)
2. Specifies that the contact information must be given if the communication does any of the following:
a) Demands payment of a tax, penalty, fine, fee or assessment;
b) Denies an application for a license or permit that is issued by the city, town or state agency; or
c) Requests revisions, corrections or additional information or necessary materials for approval of an application for a license, permit or other authorization issued by the city, town or state agency. (Sec. 1, 2)
3. Mandates that a reply by an authorized employee be sent within five business days after the city, town or state agency receives the communication. (Sec. 1, 2)
