Arizona department of agriculture; continuation.
Purpose
Continues the Arizona Department of Agriculture (AZDA) for eight years.
Background
The AZDA is charged with the support and promotion of farming, ranching, and agribusiness for the benefit of the State of Arizona. The AZDA consists of six divisions including the Animal Services Division, the Plant Services Division, the Environmental Services Division, the Weights and Measure Services Division, the Pest Management Division, and the Citrus, Fruit and Vegetable Division. (A.R.S § 3-102.)
There is no anticipated fiscal impact to the state General Fund associated with this legislation.
Provisions
1. Continues, retroactive to July 1, 2021, the AZDA until July 1, 2029.
2. Repeals the AZDA on January 1, 2030.
3. Continues the AZDA for eight years.
4. Becomes effective on the general effective date, retroactive to July 1, 2021.
