appropriation; Arizona water protection fund
Purpose
Appropriates $1,000,000 from the state General Fund (state GF) in FY 2022 to the Arizona Water Protection Fund (AWPF).
Background
Established
in 1994, the AWPF is administered by the AWPF Commission (A.R.S.
§ 45-2111). AWPF monies are used: 1) for the development and implementation
of measures to protect water of sufficient quantity and quality; 2) to
maintain, enhance and restore rivers and streams and associated riparian
habitats consistent with water law and water rights and measurers; and 3) to
increase water availability (A.R.S.
§ 45-2101).
The Joint Legislative Budget Committee baseline includes $250,000 from the state GF in FY 2022 for the AWPF (JLBC).
H.B. 2035 appropriates $1,000,000 from the state GF in FY 2022 to the AWPF.
Provisions
1. Appropriates $1,000,000 from the state GF in FY 2022 to the AWPF.
2. Becomes effective on the general effective date.
