FLOOR
AMENDMENT EXPLANATION
1. Requires the Department
of Health Services (DHS), beginning January 1, 2023, to conduct proficiency
testing and remediate problems with certified independent third-party
laboratories and licensed marijuana testing facilities and continues to permit
DHS, through December 31, 2022, to conduct testing and remediation.
2. Authorizes
DHS to contract for proficiency testing with laboratories that meet prescribed
criteria.
3.
Requires DHS to report to the Joint
Legislative Budget Committee on expenditures made for proficiency testing
contracts for the preceding fiscal year.
4. Makes
a conforming change.
