AN ACT

 

amending title 26, chapter 2, article 1, Arizona Revised Statutes, by adding section 26‑321; appropriating monies; relating to emergency management.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona:

Section 1.  Title 26, chapter 2, article 1, Arizona Revised Statutes, is amended by adding section 26-321, to read:

START_STATUTE26-321.  Search and rescue equipment grant fund; uses

A.  The search and rescue equipment grant fund is established.  The fund consists of monies appropriated by the legislature and any Gifts, grants and other donations received from public or private sources.  Monies in the fund are subject to legislative appropriation.  The division shall administer the fund.  The division shall use Monies in the fund to provide grants to law enforcement agencies, fire departments and fire districts to purchase search and rescue equipment, including water rescue devices.

B.  The division may use an amount not to exceed ten percent of the monies in the fund for the administrative costs of this section. END_STATUTE

Sec. 2.  Appropriation; search and rescue equipment grant fund; exemption

A.  The sum of $1,000,000 is appropriated from the state general fund in fiscal year 2021-2022 to the search and rescue equipment grant fund established by section 26‑321, Arizona Revised Statutes, as added by this act.

B.  The appropriation made in subsection A of this section is exempt from the provisions of section 35-190, Arizona Revised Statutes, relating to lapsing of appropriations.
