AN ACT

Establishing the transportation funding task force.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona:

Section 1. Transportation funding task force; membership; duties; report; delayed repeal

A. The transportation funding task force is established consisting of:

1. The director of the department of transportation or the director's designee who will serve as chairperson of the task force.

2. The following members who are appointed by the governor:

(a) One member from the Maricopa association of governments.

(b) One member from the Pima association of governments.

(c) One member from the league of Arizona cities and towns.

(d) One member from the county supervisors association of Arizona.

(e) One member from a general contractor association in this state. 

(f) One member from a trucking association in this state.

(g) One member from a transportation association that represents labor.

(h) One member from a rural transportation association.

B. Appointed members serve at the pleasure of the governor.

C. Task force members are not eligible to receive compensation, but members appointed by the governor are eligible for reimbursement of expenses under title 38, chapter 4, article 2, Arizona Revised Statutes.

D. The task force shall study transportation funding options for this state.  On or before December 15, 2021, the task force shall submit a report regarding the task force's activities and recommendations for administrative or legislative action to the governor, the president of the senate and the speaker of the house of representatives and provide a copy of this report to the secretary of state.

E. This section is repealed from and after September 30, 2022.
