FLOOR AMENDMENT EXPLANATION
Precludes a current or former governor, governor's staff member, lobbyist, lawyer or legislator who is involved in enacting gaming legislation or is involved in negotiating the 2021 Tribal-State Gaming Compact from having a financial interest in or work in a gambling operation or the gambling industry in Arizona for five years after the effective date of the 2021 Gaming Legislation or the Tribal-Gaming compact.

"5-606. Gaming legislation; 2021 gaming compact amendment; conflict of interest; prohibition
Notwithstanding any other law, a current or former governor, governor's staff member, lobbyist, lawyer or legislator who is involved in enacting gaming legislation related to a tribal state gaming compact amendment that becomes effective after January 1, 2021 or is involved in negotiating a tribal-state gaming compact amendment that becomes effective after January 1, 2021 may not have a financial interest in or work in a gambling operation or the gambling industry for a period of five years after the effective date of the gaming legislation or the tribal-state gaming compact amendment."
