FLOOR AMENDMENT EXPLANATION

1. Adds a county shelter to the list of approved practice areas the applicant must serve for two years.

2. Requires the Arizona Department of Agriculture (AZDA) to distribute to the veterinarian from the Arizona Veterinary Loan Assistance Fund (Fund) an amount that is equal to the amount of the veterinary's outstanding veterinary college educational loan balance, rather than the tuition the veterinarian paid to the attend the college.

3. Asserts monies distributed from the Fund are subject to availability and legislative appropriation.

4. Defines education loan balance as the balance of principal, interest and related expenses of the educational loan.
