FLOOR AMENDMENT EXPLANATION
1. Prohibits a person from operating a motor vehicle designed to carry 11 to 15 passengers to transport school children unless the person possesses:
a) the appropriate license class for the size of the vehicle;
b) a school bus certificate issued by the Department of Public Safety (DPS); and
c) a valid fingerprint clearance card.
2. Specifies that the use of a motor vehicle designed to carry 11 to 15 passengers to transport students to or from home or school on a regularly scheduled basis by a school district or charter school must be in accordance with safety rules and regulations adopted by DPS.

Page 9, line 11, after the period, insert "a person shall not operate a vehicle authorized pursuant to section 15-925 to transport school children unless the person possesses the appropriate license class for the size of the vehicle being operated, a school bus certificate that is issued by the department of public safety and a valid fingerprint clearance card pursuant to subsection d of this section."
