AN ACT
amending title 41, chapter 1, article 4, Arizona Revised Statutes, by adding section 41-177; appropriating monies; relating to the state treasurer.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona:
Section 1. Title 41, chapter 1, article 4, Arizona Revised Statutes, is amended by adding section 41-177, to read:
41-177. Immigrant legal fund
A. The immigrant legal fund is established consisting of legislative appropriations, gifts, grants and donations. Monies in the fund are continuously appropriated. The state treasurer shall administer the fund. Monies in the fund are exempt from the provisions of section 35-190 relating to lapsing of appropriations.
B. The state treasurer shall use monies from the fund to provide state aid on a first-come, first-served basis to nonprofit organizations that provide legal counsel to process immigration cases. The state treasurer shall establish an application process for nonprofit organizations to apply for monies from the fund.
Sec. 2. Appropriation; immigrant legal fund
The sum of $1,000,000 is appropriated from the state general fund in fiscal year 2022-2023 to the immigrant legal fund established by section 41-177, Arizona Revised Statutes, as added by this act.
