SB 1525 establishes a new interstate barrier median expansion study committee consisting of 15 members. The committee would be charged with examining the current landscape of median barriers throughout the state and would look at the feasibility of installing such barriers along highways. The bill would also require the committee to provide a historical accounting of fatalities from crossover accidents as well as look at best practices for barrier installation. The committee would be required to report their recommendations for administrative and legislative action by December 15, 2022, including a proposed priority list of median barriers to be installed in the state.
