Overview

Prohibits sex offenders from being hired as taxi drivers.

History

A vehicle for hire company must have completed a criminal background check before a driver is engaged as an employee or lessee of the company. Vehicle for hire companies must have written evidence of criminal background checks for all employees or lessee's and must be made available for inspection at all times by the Arizona Department of Transportation (A.R.S. § 28-9507).

Provisions

1. Prohibits a person who is a registered sex offender from being engaged as an employee or lessee of a vehicle for hire company. (Sec. 1)
