Summary of the Strike-Everything Amendment to HB 2134

Overview

Appropriates $150,000 from the state General Fund (GF) in FY 2023 to the Arizona Department of Education (ADE) to implement electronic incident prevention programs in public schools.

History

School district governing boards set their own procedures regarding incident prevention on school property and in school related spaces. School districts must create policies and procedures addressing the report, documentation and investigation of incidents. These required measures also include the education of students regarding their rights and available resources if an incident occurs (A.R.S. § 15-341).

In FY 2022, $5,910,547,300 was appropriated to the ADE from the GF (JLBC FY 2023 Baseline Book).
