Overview
Prohibits a governmental entity from imposing any requirement to wear a face covering or mask anywhere on the premises with certain exceptions.
History
Coronaviruses are a family of viruses that can cause illnesses such as the common cold, severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) and Middle East respiratory syndrome (MERS). A novel coronavirus is a new coronavirus that has not been previously identified. The novel coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2), has caused a worldwide pandemic of respiratory illness called COVID-19.
Provisions
1. Repeals statute relating to vaccine passport prohibitions. (Sec. 1)
2. Stipulates that a governmental entity may not impose any requirement to wear a face covering or mask anywhere on the premises, except where long-standing workplace infection control and safety measures that are unrelated to COVID-19 may be required. (Sec. 2)
3. Exempts a healthcare institution established pursuant to statute from the prohibition on a mask requirement. (Sec. 2)
