Overview
Prescribes where the legislative district committee reorganization meeting must be held if the district lies in two or more counties.
History
A political party that is entitled to representation on the ballot is authorized to establish a district party committee for any legislative district as prescribed by law. A district party committee consists of the precinct committeemen that reside in the district and are elected pursuant to statute. Each district party committee must meet after the effective date of reapportionment legislation that realigns or changes legislative district boundaries and organize according to the new boundaries (A.R.S. § 16-823).
Provisions
1. Requires the district party reorganization meeting to be called and organized by the members of the district party committee who reside in the county in which most of the district party committee members reside if the district lies in two or more counties. (Sec. 1)
