Summary of the Strike-Everything Amendment to SB 1251

Overview

Directs the Arizona Department of Public Safety (DPS) to collect information on criminal offenses in which evidence suggests prejudice based on anti-Semitism. 

History

DPS administers the central state repository, which is a system designed to collect, store and disseminate Arizona's criminal history records and related criminal justice information. Statute requires law enforcement agencies to submit certain criminal justice information to DPS to be submitted into the central state repository. This information includes criminal justice information concerning crimes that manifest evidence of prejudice based on race, color, religion, national origin, sexual orientation, gender or disability (A.R.S. § 41-1750).
